Confirmation & Adult Baptism

What happens at Confirmation?

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized. As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit your life to following Jesus Christ. Your friends and family as well as the local Christian community will be with you to promise to support and pray for you.

The first step if you are thinking of confirmation is to contact our vicar. When you speak to our vicar they will invite you to a few meetings to help you get ready for the confirmation service. this is a good way to ask any quesions you have about God, Jesus and your journey of faith.

Getting baptized as an adult or young person.

You are never too old to take this step, and being baptized as an adult is a wonderful experience.
Usually adults seeking baptism are encouraged to explore a combined baptism and confirmation.
Your baptism will normally take place during the main Sunday service. This is so that you can be seen to be joining the family of the Church and be welcomed into membership. In turn the Church will promise to support and pray for you.
